Do what you want!

We are free to decide whether we follow someone else's orders, our surrounding customs or our desires.. But sometimes this is dificult as they do not satisty us. What is important is to be aware of what we decide and why we decide it.
Do we follow orders without stopping to think if they are convenient for us or not? Are all orders or customs good for us? Or could they be immoral as well? Not only behaviours can be good or bad, moral or immoral... People can also be so. However , there's no manual to learn how to be a good human being... Therefore, we have to learn by being human beings, sometimes by trial and error... We are not an instrument to reach and end, but our intentions are the reasons we do things.
While we learn, at school and in the school of life, we follow our beliefs and criteria to be ourselves immersed in a society...
So... do what you want!! As long as your free will and freedom of choice does not go agaisnt someone else's...

Is it always possible to avoid "going agaisnt someone else's free will and freedom of choice", Laura? Hobbes wouldn't think so...

So... what should we prioritise in case of conflict of interests? If you have chosen a criteria for such cases, please share with us all here!

Gladys, unfortunatelly is not ALWAYS possible to act without going against other's free will. The problem is that most people do not care if they may hurt others when acting, and therefore simply act whithout meassuring consequences.
For my part, I think that if we consciously know we may hurt someone in any ways, we should think twice before doing something... if we really care...

Who do you have in mind when you say "most people do not care if they may hurt others"? Most of the people you know???

I'm often surprised by how often people I know seem not to realise their choices may help themselves... I hope I can eventually help some of my learners notice that!

Happy blogging,
